A Visit to Gentry's Farm in Franklin, TN

I know I'm WAY late on Halloween posts but...alas.

There are so many fabulous little things to do around this city of mine. One thing I honestly have been meaning to do since they were little was take them to Gentry's Farm during the Fall/Halloween season.

Gentry's Farm is a full working, operating farm in Franklin, TN. It has been in the Gentry Family for over 150 years. What makes this farm so special is during the fall especially, they open it up to the public. There are hayrides, games, activities, a pumpkin patch, corn maze and lots of other things.

It was so much fun for the kiddos. Yes, they are in costumes. And yes, you may not see other kids dressed up. But hey, it was cute.

Gah. I die.

You coming Mom?

Ahh, buddy. Couldn't resist...couldn't resist.

I have a feeling this pic might be a memory maker - to take it each year.

Sweet gal.

Did I mention they had a tire swing? How sweet is this pic? And look at little peanut snuggled inside the tire. Have you ever seen such a sweet thing?

Wild Josh - and Peanut.

This is why you shouldn't bring DSLR cameras to things you might want your picture in, and this is also why Moms never get their picture made....le sigh

Why did my son get too big for the riding tractor area?  WTH yo??

Pretty Princess

Handsome devil can shoot spider webs miles long. Super powerful, he is.

HUGS!!!!!

He seems quite happy to be in snuggletown.

Me and my favorite girl!

This picture is the sweetest because Jake is holding her hand inside his. This is also on the hayride!

How can a boy look so beautiful mid-cough?

So, as we were leaving we saw old Mr. Gentry and Mrs. Gentry sitting inside the barn. They had little painted ornaments they were selling. They called out to us and called us over. They loved that Josh and Jules were in their costumes and were so pleased we came to visit their farm. They talked to Josh and Jules for a while then Mr. Gentry asked if Josh would like an ornament to put on our Christmas Tree. Josh was ecstatic, and picked out the one that was orange and white (naturally). What a special memory :)

Yes, yes we did :)

Happy Thanksgiving 2013!

Thankful for so many things in my life its believable. I am very blessed and very happy. I have a great husband and friend of 11 years (wow). I have two amazing, special twins that I'm so glad to have fought so hard for. I have a great family on my side and Jake's. As dysfunctional and different as we all are I am lucky to have them. I am thankful for my new niece Sutton, and although in the NICU know she's a fighter. I have a very lovely home, and have more that we could ever need. I now am finally at home with my babies and am doing some work that I truly love, although I was/and thankful for the work I did at the AHA.

I'm in a great place in my life and I'm beyond blessed! Woohoo and Word.

Buh Bye Football

Another football season has come and gone. (Sort of- we still have KY, but home games are done) Although its sad somewhat, on the other hand, I couldn't be happier.

Poor old UT has had quite the lackluster season -AGAIN. It just gets frustrating, especially when you add ticket costs, donation to the university, parking passes, food/drink for the tailgate... Yadda yadda you know.

However, the tailgating had been fun as always! It's always fun to reconnect with family and friends. Plus, the babes got to experience their very first football game. And when I say football game, I mean they saw they Vol Walk, they saw The Pride of the Southland band, and one whole quarter of the actual game :) hehe

As frustrating as it all it, I'm still a fan and all that... Just glad it's over. Ready to stay home one weekend :)

So, here is a look back at Tailgating 2013 in iphone goodness!

Oh, Hey Fake Smilers

What happened to my super photogenic babies? Where did they go? They have been replaced as of late with fake-smilers. Did I all of a sudden grow some teenagers? Could these smiles look more forced? Humph.

Halloween Years Past

Hi all!! Remember us! I have sooooo much to post about, but can't for the life of me sit down and edit pictures. I will I promise! For now, a little glimpse into Halloween's past and this year! This year was the first year I didn't get to pick costumes. Yup... They are officially "that" age. So, naturally we were a pirate and princess.

BIG news!!!

Ya'll, I have so many posts that need to be published. A sweet Halloween post, a visit to the pumpkin patch that is Gentrys Farm, Baby Olive's Christening, etc. But, the reason I have been so MIA, is that this new venture has taken a big turn personally and professionally.

I literally started it in August. And now, it's busy enough that last Friday was my last day at The American Heart Association - WHAT???

Yup. So, now I get to be home with my kiddos three days a week, and work on furniture. It's SO FREAKING EXCITING. I am doing something creatively that I love, and am finally getting to be the SAHM that I have have wanted to do recently.

I never thought being a SAHM was my thing. And, I have learned I wouldn't have been good at it when they were babies. Babies, aren't and haven't been my "thing". But, OMG - I am in LOVE with my kids right now. Pretty much from 2.5 years and on, they have been these perfect little buddies. I get to hang with them so much more now, and still have this amazing business that fuels my passions, career drives, and creativity. Win/Win.

I am so excited about this new chapter. Go check it out!  www.facebook.com/lepetitemaisonshop

Here is a pic taken from a booth I had set up at a Holiday Open House :)
