Me: "Josh, you need to listen to mommy. We have to leave school now."
Josh: "No!!!!"
Me: "Josh, you need to come right now".
Josh: (trips and falls over a big toy)
Jules: "See??? Thats what happens!!"
**oh my word, I died laughing. I clearly must say this a lot to them when something bad happens when they aren't listening to me**
We listen to Pandora all the time in the car. It could be the kids stations. They love Dora, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Fresh Beat Band, Taylor Swift, etc. Well, as you know, Pandora has advertisements that come on every 5 or so songs. So, now when it comes on, this is what they say:
"Oh NO Ads!!!"
"Time Out Ads"!!
"Booooooo Ads!"
While unlocking the front door with my keys
Jules: "I push the button, I push the button!" (in reference to the door bell)
Jules: (pushes the button turns the boor and opens it) " It's Juuulllllleeeeeesssss!!!"

Babies Away
The babies are with their Grama and Papa for a couple of nights this weekend. I was going to Arrington Vineyards Friday with the girls, so Jake was going to have them by himself. Then Sat we are going to the Kenny Chesney/Tim McGraw concert, so it seemed teh perfect time for them to go hang out in Waverly, much to the estatic delight of my in-laws. It still doesn't mean I am so sad when they are gone and miss them like CRAZY. Its so different. If Jake and I go out of town, its not so bad. But, being in your house at home, and your babies aren't home, is a very different feeling. But, I know they are having a blast and being 100% entertained, so they are in good hands. I can't wiat for them to come home though! I took a few photos before they left yesterday.
How about a vote??

Gooo...Yankees!
I don't think it's a secret that we are big Yankees fans around here. See here, here, and here. So, when we saw that the Yankees were in driving distance to us playing the Braves, well, we had to go! So, Jake and I went down to Atlanta to catch a game.
I don't know what it is with Atlanta. We go pretty often I guess, at least once a year. And every time we leave with a bad taste in our mouth. We just don't like the city. No offense to anyone that lives there, but maybe we just don't do the right things while there. (and it didn't help staying in midtown and walking everywhere to only have it rain every day). Sigh...
Anywho, I got to see the fabulous Derek Jeter play. So, all is well with the world :)

Steppin Out Saturday - Weddings and Monkeys
Jake went out of town Friday to do some kind of golf thing (yeah, I know, you are shocked that he would dare do it, hehe). So, the babes and I were on our own Friday and pre-nap Saturday. I left it up to them. We went to the pool Friday after school, so if they wanted to go back, that was fine, but I let them decide. (Yes, totally realize they could have said 'trip to the moon' and I was obligated to try and make that one work, being a supermom and all)
Whew. Luckily, the little nuggets wanted to go to Monkey's Treehouse, an indoor play place here. We love these places, and haven't been in a while, so I thought it would be fun!And if you look back on these other pictures I have taken at these places, well...you may just crawl up in a ball and die because time goes by too dang fast, ya'll.
Anywho, fun was had by all, and they do super well with sharing and playing and just running around like crazy people, so it was a good time.
Saturday night came around and Jake and I went to a wedding with Jake's parents. It was a family friend's daughter (the one where I went to the shower a few weeks back). It was at a local upscale restaurant called the Boundr'y, and it was such an awesome space! I had no clue they hosted any type of events there, so it was so neat. I love weddings. Some people hate them, but I love them. Whats not to love? Food, open bar, dancing, etc. Plus, I am a firm believer that weddings are good for your you and your marriage, after all, it's so nice to see a sweet couple embarking on a journey of a lifetime and saying their vows before God, those same vows we did all those (ahem, many) years ago :)

Our Week In Phone Pics
Here is our week in phone pictures. It has been a busy week here. The biggest thing is we started school! A milestone in their itty bitty life :) Jake and I went to our very first CMA Fest concert. It's pretty hige here in Nashville, (formerly called FanFare) but we have managed to stay away from the redneck festivities so far. But, we went to a show on Thursday in Jake's bank suite at LP Field. We saw Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Lady A, and Zac Brown Band. And you know what? It was pretty awesome and the crowd was way better than I thought. Not really that rednecky at all! Woohoo! We also did some poolin'. All in all, another fab week :)

Time for School!
So say this is a change in our life would be an understatement. We made the decision a long time ago that they were ready for daycare at 2. But, with my job and life, and daycares around here, we decided to wait until the school session was over. Around here, waiting lists are at least a year. With twins? Two, at least. I got two calls this year from daycares that I had put my name on in August of 2009 - no joke. So, that being said, it's much easier for us to send them starting in the summer rather than fall, for entry purposes. However, we were finally told we were for sure "ins" at our church daycare, a very highly rated in here in Brentwood. Woohoo! We told our nanny in January that we were going to send them in June.
Then, TWO WEEKS AGO we were told that we weren't, in fact, going to get in. There was apparently an abundance of siblings that got the spots before us. (whatever) To say I was $%$#%@ is an understatement. So I was a woman on a mission of two weeks of visits, calls, emails, etc. Well, I will say that the Lord works in mysterious ways, thats for sure. We ended up finding two that were both going to be great. The one we decided on is very highly rated, close to Jake's work, and we ended up having a lot of friends who had sent their kids there (Steve McNairs kids went there too! RIP :(
Everyone I have talked to has said that, lol - must be the claim to fame) God has a plan that's for sure. Sometimes its hard for me to back off and trust in that, but it's true. Everyone there is SO NICE and they have been there forever, so it really makes me feel good. And, its also cheaper, so wahoo!
First off, I do want to take a minute to say goodbye to out nanny. She has been with us since the babes were three months old and has had a hand in raising them. For everything she is done, I cannot be more grateful. We're going to miss you Sherri!
So, here we go with all our photos from our very first day of school!!! We are so excited and the babes have done great so far. They love their teachers, and their teachers (natch) adore them already and say how smart and talkative they are.
Please don't forget to vote! Just two little clicks! Mucho gracias!

Steppin Out Saturday - guess where we went again??
Well, if you are sick of reading about yet another post about out going to the Nashville Zoo on Saturdays, well, then you're out of luck, my friend. Because we went yet again, hehe!! It was SUCH a beautiful day here in Nashville Like low 80's and sunny nice, so there wasn't a more perfect day for the zoo, no? However, I will say the grand thing about the zoo is that we try to do different things on each visit. AND...this time we got to hang out with our much cooler, OLDER friend, Sarah Grace. The babes love Sarah Grace, as do we, of course. This trip we checked out the new Dino Trek exhibit. The babes have been before, but Josh got scared and cried, lol, so this time we thought we would try it out again with Sarah Grace helping out with peer pressure and all. Worked like a charm!
Headed in! Holding hands. Le Sigh... On Jules: Dress and Pants: Matilda Jane//Shoes: Teeny Tiny Toms On Josh: Shirt and Shorts: Polo// Shoes: Teeny Tiny Toms :) |
Note the pic on the left. Seriously?? Its a kids exhibit! I know it's lifelike and all, but ewww! |
Another first for us was FINALLY seeing the dang elephants. I honestly have quit climbing the giant hill to go see them, because they are never out and its a waste of time to try and pull two babies in a wagon all that way for nothing. But...we tried again, and I am SO GLAD we did!! Elephants are my favorite, favorite animals in the zoo, and they never have been so close before. I was in awe and snapped as many pictures as I could. They are so beautiful!!
Of course, we couldn't leave before giving the goats a nice squeeze!
Saturday night I attended a bridal shower for one of my Mother-in-Law's daughters. It was at Flyte and really a fun time. Jake should have come with, but we needed a babysitter, hehe :)
On Me: Dress: local Blush Boutique//Shoes: Charles David//Accessories: Stella and Dot |
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
