Four Year Portraits

I have seriously dropped the ball this year with their four year portraits. I planned on doing them in the spring, Then for some reason spring flew by in like two seconds. Then of course it was summertime, And that's when we got them done last year but it was so very hot here, So I kept waiting on a cooler time to do them,-  Which honestly never came.

Then I decided I would just do pictures at the beach this year and those would be our four year pictures. And well honestly they sucked. So here it is fall and I'm just now getting them done.

If anyone can tell me what has happened to the last nine months that be great. It has seriously flown by in the blink of an eye. Well at least I've gotten them done right- I mean they'll be here in time for Christmas cards so that counts right? Jeez... Well even though they are almost 5 I decided to go ahead and get them done. Here are a couple of sneak peeks from my photographer I used.

Aren't they seriously adorable???

Happy Birthday Week!

Here is it, yet another birthday. How do they happen so fast once you're past 30? Sigh. Anyway, another one has come and gone. Jake and I went out to have some fun in Nashville. I never feel old in Nashville. There are so many 30-40 somethings out and about, and so much to do. So, Jake and I ventured out to a new local hot spot, Acme Feed and Seed. Although the name sounds awful, it's four floors of trend. AND KIDS. I have nothing else to describe it. They were in their early 20's, some might have been younger. Jeez. All college aged, all drunk, all having an absolute ball. I usually never feel old, except for that moment. Dammit. I have never felt so old in my life. Do you ever go to a bar/restaurant where you just KNOW a fight will break out? Yeah, it was one of those places.

I look to old to be here :(

To further show my age, we went out to see one of my favorite shows, Guilty Pleasures, a completely 80's cover band. They are so much fun!!! Seriously, if you haven't been to a show and you are local, please check them out!

I actually was feeling better about my age, until my lovely husband Jake pointed out that this birthday was the 15th anniversary of my 21st birthday. WHAT???? I can hang out with 21 year olds! We are the same me and them! I cannot, no way Jose, be 15 YEARS older than them. I refuse to accept that. So, with that, I decided to do a Throwback Thursday to my 21st birthday party. We rented out the clubhouse at a college apartment complex where we lived in Knoxville at UT. It was a BALL. So many of my friends showed up, new and old. My sister Ginny picked me up that morning, she took me to the rock on Tennessee's campus where she surprised me by painting it! I went to a salon and got my hair done, went shopping for my outfit, and then had a mucho fun par-tay. NO WAY that was 15 years ago. NO FREAKING WAY.

The famous painted rock! And I still own this shirt! Seriously! So see? There's no way it's been fifteen years because there is NO WAY id still have a shirt this long. (Yeah, okay, shut it. It's sad Le sigh- great chambray never goes out of style tho)

Me and Jake! We were just friends here though :) neighbor buddies.

Ryan, Amanda and Moi- tiara natch

Overheard on the baby monitor

Josh: hey Jules can you help me wipe?
Jules: oh no josh, I only wipe myself.
Josh: but Jules I really need your help.
Jules: you can do it josh I know you can!
Josh: but how did you learn?
Jules: well josh, I just practiced a lot. You just get a little toilet paper, but not too much. It's easy!
Josh: you want to come see my poo poo?
Jules: oh yeah!

Goodbye Summer

What happened to summer? Seriously, I had a bucket list of things to get done with my first summer at home with the kiddos. Um, I didn't get to much. We did alot of pool - went to the beach, went to the zoo a few times (not nearly as much as we did two years ago, we went about every weekend then!) but we still love it. But that's about it!! I'm not sure what has honestly happened. I just came up on a year of doing furniture. That has kind of exploded in a really awesome way.

I have loved being home with my kids - really, really loved it. But with it comes alot of sadness - one more summer until they start school. Seriously where does the time go? They JUST turned four!!! Now we are closer to five than four. I have to stop talking about this, because it really causes depression. They are my only babies and they are seriously growing SO FAST. I know everyone says that, but it's seriously scary.

In honor of the last day of summer, I actually took my camera to the pool today to get a couple of pics. They have done great this summer with swimming. They wore their "floaties" as much times as they had them off. They swam without them alot if I'm in the pool with them, but when Mommy needed a break, lol the floaties went back on. I just don't trust the water yet. They may be wearing floaties until they're 15. Goodbye summer! While I go cry, I'll relish in football season to come!

Gotta love ice cream at the pool!

One of the greatest things about our pool is the ability to shower there! So we go ahead and give the kids baths after they swim. One less step!
