Goodbye Summer

What happened to summer? Seriously, I had a bucket list of things to get done with my first summer at home with the kiddos. Um, I didn't get to much. We did alot of pool - went to the beach, went to the zoo a few times (not nearly as much as we did two years ago, we went about every weekend then!) but we still love it. But that's about it!! I'm not sure what has honestly happened. I just came up on a year of doing furniture. That has kind of exploded in a really awesome way.

I have loved being home with my kids - really, really loved it. But with it comes alot of sadness - one more summer until they start school. Seriously where does the time go? They JUST turned four!!! Now we are closer to five than four. I have to stop talking about this, because it really causes depression. They are my only babies and they are seriously growing SO FAST. I know everyone says that, but it's seriously scary.

In honor of the last day of summer, I actually took my camera to the pool today to get a couple of pics. They have done great this summer with swimming. They wore their "floaties" as much times as they had them off. They swam without them alot if I'm in the pool with them, but when Mommy needed a break, lol the floaties went back on. I just don't trust the water yet. They may be wearing floaties until they're 15. Goodbye summer! While I go cry, I'll relish in football season to come!

Gotta love ice cream at the pool!

One of the greatest things about our pool is the ability to shower there! So we go ahead and give the kids baths after they swim. One less step!

Happy 4th of July and Kroger Giftcard Winner!

Happy 4th everyone!

What do you do when your day off from work and you're home with the kiddos and every plan you had got squashed? Why you throw some swimsuits and rainboots on the kids and grab your camera naturally!

We have never done this before and I'm not sure why not. What kid doesn't love puddle splashing?

Hope your 4th was a little more sunny that ours...and if not, do some splashing. Life's too short, no?

Jules originally didn't want to come out, because she didn't want to take her outfit off. So this is her running out to join us. She only lasted about 15 minutes, lol.

What are you doing Jules?? "Oh, I need to get my swimsuit wet". - Jules

After Jules went in we went walking around the neighborhood doing some puddle searches. Then he decided to see how fast he could run in his rainboots. And yes...they are on the wrong feet. That is quite typical of ole Josh.

And.....the winner of the $50 Kroger Giftcard....

Thank you so much to Kroger for these awesome giveaways. I hope you have enjoyed our series exploring all the great ways you can save time and money with Kroger!

Heading Outdoors

We are so lucky to live in such a fabulous city that has so much green space and outdoor fun. You can head on to the Natchez Trace and hike, rent a canoe at Tip-a-Canoe, or, if you are like me...just sit outside and have an adult beverage, grill some steaks and cook s'mores by the fire.

Yes, oh yes, that is much more my idea of "being in the outdoors".  Growing up, my family came close to venturing down that path to camping. My dad bought an actual pop up trailer. It sat in my driveway for many many years. We even took it out a couple of times and did the "camping thing". I was in elementary school so don't remember too much about it. I remember alot of rain, and learned quickly that it just wasn't my thing. We ended up putting the camper in our backyard and me and my friends would just sleep in my backyard. That was way more fun.

Its easy when you live around here to make some awesome memories with the outdoors.  We have been catching fireflies (or lightning bugs). This is the first summer living in our new neighborhood and I've got to say that I LOVE our lightning bugs! They are everywhere! Not sure if its the new area we live in, or if I'm now seeing them all from the eyes of a three year old, but they are out in abundance and my kiddos love them. It's so sweet to go through these summertime outdoor traditions with my kids.

Summer Vaca Time!

Okay, so I know that summer doesn't officially start until Memorial Day. But, I went to the Jimmy Buffet concert in April and have been ITCHING to go to the beach ever since. So, I made a call to my Mommy, and we took the kids and my sister to Orange Beach for a little long beach weekend. And, now that its almost summer-time, I have alot of other little trips in the works. We're going to take the babes to see  my dad in Hilton Head in June, Jake and I are going to take a weekend trip to see The Eagles, and possibly a little NYC trip in August. YAY for summertime!!!

And I'm forwarning, I only took a gazillion cute pictures from our recent beach trip and will be posting this week! - here's a sample.

With all these trips comes traveling - and gas. I buy ALOT of gas. I have the sweetest little Nissan Rogue that I bought because I travel so much for my job. And I buy a lot of gas. Sometimes I have to fill up every day. So, there is that, and add to that these super-awesome trips coming up, and this girl needs some gas discounts somewhere. Thats where Kroger comes in - yay!

Sample of the Kroger app. Speaking of, Venus Razors are $2 off this week!
Go buy them yesterday - its bikini season, ya'll.

I am a big Kroger shopper, for numerous reasons. Its where I grew up going, all stores are laid out the same, and the gas discounts. Add to that their new shopping features such as the digital Kroger Coupon circular, and the Kroger app (how cool is this??) Plus, right now they are offering 2X fuel points with their ongoing summer deal!

A little about this awesome 2x Fuel Points Summer Promotion...All you have to do is download the digital coupon HERE for the 2X Fuel Points!! With the digital coupon, customers will earn 2x Fuel Points on qualifying purchases every Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the month the coupon is valid. This is so great for summer travel!!

Its going to be easy peasy to buy groceries for my family, and save some mulah for fantastic summer traveling.

We are in the south

Is there anything more cliche than playing in the backyard with a garden hose? No, probably not. It's certainly a rite of passage if you are a child in the south. Me and my sisters did it as children. And, now my kids are doing it too! I'm sure their children will as well :)

It's pretty cool how life repeats itself :)

Who needs pants??

Not this boy! Much better!
