Hoppy Easter everyone! If you are as giddy about holidays around here as I am, well, lucky you! I love Easter. We did lots of fun things surrounding the holiday, like taking some pics with bunnies, dying Easter eggs, visiting the bunnies at Phillips Toy Mart, Easter Egg hunts, Easter Baskets, and visiting the Easter Bunny! We didn't get into the whole religious side of it this year, but we definately will next year. They are still a bit to young to understand, and were just real obsessed with all the bunny talk, so I didn't want to confuse them, ya know?
But, we did make it to church, and it was SLAMMED. Our church is pretty big, no lie. It's not one of the "southern mega-churches" liek you hear about it, but still large. I think we had 5500 people at Sunday's service - crazy!! After that, we went down to the Striblings for Easter Lunch. There, we changed into our Masters gear (the kids, not me - their Daddy bought them stuff when he went this week) and did some golf watching (him, not me) and eating and easter egg hunting! Super beautiful day, super awesome service, super awesome day. God is good!
Their baskets!
DIY by Moi :)
They were so easy and cute!
Easter bunny came!
Family Easter Pic. I coordinated the kids, but the fact that Jake and I coordinated with each other and the kids was a complete fluke! Promise!
Papa, Baaa, and the babes
Can I just say HOW MUCH I am obsessed with Baby Toms? And Jules jumped off this stump 2,398 times, no lie.
The babes swinging with cousin Gabe, and Josh loves necklaces. LOVES them.
She's really cute. How much do you love their Masters outfits? (AND THEIR TOMS???)
What a fun weekend!! Do ya'll love holidays as much as me? (or I? not sure what is appropriate there. Hmmm). Anywho, what a fun weekend! Old Natchez had their annual "Breakfast with the Easter Bunny" and Egg Hunt, So the babes, Jake and I totally partook! It was a beautiful day - perfect for looking at bunnies and eggs and basket fun.
The hunt (they make it pretty easy for the 4 and under) and the hunters ready to go!
Josh became an egg-hunting pro!!
Sweet little Jules!
On Jules: Top and Leggings: Matilda Jane//Shoes: Itty Bitty (and they squeak - I die)
Modeling a bucket, made by yours truly
Josh - on the hunt
Jake is laughing in pic on the left b/c Jules wanted no part in putting those eggs in her pretty basket filled with Foofa!
They also got balloon animals! Josh got the Cars balloon (note his lips going VRRROOOOOMM!) and Jules got a flower, she is super excited, right?
Mess o' Curls
And finally....me with the babes!
On Moi: Tank and Skirt: H and M//Jacket: Good Ole Levi's//Shoes: Aldo
Another of firsts this week - we dyed our first set of Easter Eggs! Mimi helped us. Although in my mind it was going to be this magical experience...Ha.Ha. Ha. I don't remember it being quite so messy as a child.
It was still fun. Of the dozen we boiled, about 9 survived toddler hands. They loved how they changed colors though and they loved decorating them!
Stripped down to their skivvies!
Hmmmm, whats going on in there?
Mimi's hand! That is the only thing she would allow in the pictures so early in the morning. HeHe!
Yellow!
Josh cracks me up. He is holding EVERY. SINGLE. toy he got in Mimi's Easter basket - with a death grip. Pity the fool who tries to take something away from him.
Sweet girl!
Let's try on our SUPER random bunny mask/glasses!
Look out world- it's Batbunny! The scariest diaper-wearing superhero you will ever meet!
The surviving eggs! (and the yellow one also didn't survive - see the crack?)
She is a MESS! Ha! Between the hair, panties, and basic discheveled look - its hysterical.
We survived our first dentist appointment. I really, really tried to prepare them. I talked about getting a surprise afterwards, we made up a song about how fun the dentist was, etc, etc. But, alas, all the toys in the waiting room were no help. They still screamed and screamed, lol - poor things! If Jake is anything as a parent, it is a BIG proponent of healthy teeth. So, he was super excited both kiddos got to put a golden (or blue and pink) ticket up on the "No Cavities!" wall.
Everything went well and was great. On the downside, however, they both have longer-than-necessary labial frenulum. Not abnormal. It's that tissue that attaches your upper lip to your gums. I had it too. It will probably have to be removed (as mine was) to prevent a gap between your teeth. Sigh... Even more sadly, is that the dentist said that the tissue there is so weak that often times kids will tear it on their own by falling, etc - no surgery! (am I supposed to be excited about this happening? Eww!) All in all, its very, very minor. Plus side is that they both have a great set of teeth :)
Jules, doing the "dentist" dance. (this was clearly before the OMG meltdown in the chair)
Jake, trying to talk Josh into becoming buddies with Mr. Dentist. (wasn't working)
Poor lil' dude. He was NOT happy.
Screaming....(Jules, however, was 1,232,568 times worse)
This month's photo challenge over at The Papermama is all about eyes. Since my babies (naturally) have the prettiest of eyes, I had a hard time deciding.
Sigh...these are also of Josh. I hate picking only him, but he is the only one of my children that will look at the camera!!
I liked this one alot....
But ultimately chose this one to submit. Love the lighting on this one :)
Yes, I know I just posted about this down below, but since I Heart Face's theme this month is happiness, I couldn't help but submit this one of Josh - pure, innocent, belly-laughing giddiness.
Is there anything more cliche than playing in the backyard with a garden hose? No, probably not. It's certainly a rite of passage if you are a child in the south. Me and my sisters did it as children. And, now my kids are doing it too! I'm sure their children will as well :)
